Many pretty girls with smiles on their faces were on the stage with a hope to be Miss America 2012.

Miss America Pageant 2012 was hosted by Chris Harrison and Brooke Burke live from Las Vegas.

After all the segments, photo shoot, and displaying of their abilities Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler was announced Miss America 2012.

She told that she was crying at back stage before her name was called because it is so difficult to wait for the announcement.

Kaeppeler is only 23 of a normal background.

Her father was a prisoner for 18 months in jail in a mail fraud it was the time when his daughter came to college.  He was backstage that night with his daughter.

She told that her mission is to help the children who are in jail and making it possible to meet them with their parents.

She has studied in a private Lutheran liberal arts college in Kenosha. She wanted to become a speech therapist but now she has changed her plan to become a lawyer due to the scholarship.

53 contestants participated from different states in the show.

She is from Green Bay Packers, the NFL’s defending Super Bowl champions.

The judges of the show were dancing with the Stars pro Mark Ballas, ABC reality honcho Mike Fleiss, Kardashian clan mom Kris Jenner, actress Teri Polo and Good Morning America anchor Lara Spencer.

Fifteen semi finalists were chosen by the judges.

Jenner was looking a girl full of confidence, passionate and who has worked hard.

The contestants who were left said to be in line one after other. Among them three of them did not get back as they were asking for a second chance.

The girls who were standing in rows were wearing awesome outfits some were plain, beaded and other designs.

In the talent competition only eight were said to do performance.

Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler was asked by Spencer whether Miss America should state her political connection. “Miss America represents everyone. … Miss America represents all.”s

Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson was asked by Biggest Loser coach Chris Powell whether the government should weigh in on what we feed our kids. And she replied that she believes that parents should be the ones who are teaching their children how to eat and then it would not be the government’s job to step in.

Miss Arizona performed on a poem published in fifth grade it was an acrobatic modern dance.

Miss Wisconsin sang an operatic portion. And Laura Kaeppeler “secretly wishes to swim with dolphins.”

Miss Louisiana performed a contemporary dance on ballet toe shoes. Miss South Carolina Bree Boyce, who was featured in People magazine for losing her weight more than 100 pounds before competing, was eliminated. Miss Tennessee belted out Memory from Cats. Erin Hatley is an “‘avid hiker.”Miss California danced a Black Swan variation from Swan Lake.

Miss Illinois performed a ballet number. Miss Oklahoma performed an Irish step dance.

Miss Florida Kristina Janolo was then given the boot. She is the first Filipino American to win the title of Miss Florida and hoped to be the second Asian crowned as Miss America. Miss Texas played New World Symphony, on the piano.

Miss Arizona Jennifer Sedler was asked by Kris Jenner if celebrities should use their fame to spread their faith. Sedler said in one of the more complex answers, that if you are representing an organization such as Miss America, you are representing a wide variety of people, so you should not to be forcing your faith on others, but strong on whom you are…

And then it was time for the big announcement finally.

And the announcement declared Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler as Miss America 2012 and the rest were as:

Fourth: Miss California

Third: Miss Arizona

Second: Miss New York

First runner-up: Miss Oklahoma
